Passport Information
IMPORTANT PASSPORT INFORMATION FOR TRAVEL TO OR FROM CANADA, MEXICO, CENTRAL AND SOUTH AMERICA, THE CARIBBEAN, AND BERMUDA:
Passports are currently required for all AIR travel to or from these regions.
Currently for all LAND and SEA travel to or from these regions, U.S. citizens need to present either:
- a passport, passport card (available in spring 2008), or WHTI-compliant document; or
- a government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license, along with proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate.
Effective June 1, 2009, passports will be required for all LAND and SEA travel to or from these regions.
All other international destinations require a passport. In addition, some countries have visa requirements, vaccination requirements, and/or travel advisories. Check all requirements before travel.
